My name is Ambika (she/her), and I never planned to start a book blog, but a certain stairwell on January 1st, 2026 made the decision for me: I fell down and spent most of January bedridden, with ample time to work on this.

It started as a reflection exercise, something to engage with books more intentionally while killing bedrest time. But then I began downloading advanced reader copies and sharing reviews on Goodreads. I decided it would be easier to write reviews, deflections, and all the deep dives these books take on here. And there we have it: ambireads, the blog, was born.

A bit about me: I’m an Indian-Canadian living abroad for eight years now. I’ve been in Berlin, Germany for most of that time. My day job is working at an NGO, and I also do some other writing to better understand the social impacts of AI. Now also this.
